Day Skipper Weekend Course - Part 1

RYA Dayskipper Sailing Course from Brighton
On this RYA Day Skipper practical course you will gain further experience through planning and completing passages, including a night sail. You will also gain your ICC (International Certificate of Competence). The course also involves lots of close quarter handling skills and mooring in a range of marinas. During the first weekend you will be sailing out of Brighton and returning to Brighton. This course is run over the weekend from 09.00 - 17.00. You do not need to stay onboard the yacht. Part 2, the second weekend (Friday night till Monday afternoon), will be spent in the Solent from Gosport where you will spend three nights aboard the yacht.

  • Rules of the road
  • Engine Checks
  • Fuel & water filters
  • Pump impeller

  • MOB under power
  • Yacht handling under power
  • Yacht handling under sail

Course Objective: Gain RYA Day Skipper certificate and you will be licensed to skipper your own boat and charter a boat both in the UK or abroad.
