Why fixing cables takes longer than we would all like… Harvey Dawkins2024-06-18T15:28:01+01:00 Many people have asked why the work was not completed in the winter. The answer is that the engineer only flagged up the problem at the winter service. We immediately order the parts and arranged for him to come back as soon as possible, but he was forced to postponed our work 4 times. We are trapped in a situation where there is only one one person in the country approved to sign off work of the nature we required. We rely on mechanical systems that sometimes break down. It is impossible for us to hold all the spare parts required, shippping times for parts has been extended with Brexit and we are trapped with relying on one engineer in the UK. To minimise problems we hold as many of the common spare parts as we can, we have expnanded our knowledge and ability within our team to do more and more advanced maintenance work to reduce reliance on outside providers. We have sourced UK based suppliers for as many parts as we can and we trying our hardest to find other suitably skilled engineers . But there are times when we have to go to the manufacture in Europe and require the engineer and that is when we hit longer outages. Thanks for your patience, we understand your frustration when the cables are not all running. Share this post Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google + Email Author Harvey Dawkins
